The Sky hits the road after a 64-57 home loss to the Washington Mystics on Friday, June 13. Jia Perkins lead the Sky with 17 points, followed by 11 from Candice Dupree and 10 from Chasity Melvin. The Sky couldn't overcome a fourth quarter rally by the Mystics, lead by Alana Beard, who scored 13 of her 22 points in the fourth quarter, including going 3-for-3 from the three-point line.

SKY VS. SPARKS HISTORY

The Sky is 1-4 lifetime against the LA Sparks. The last game was a close loss on June 3, 2008, when the Sky erased a 14-point fourth-quarter Sparks lead, but came up short in overtime, 81-77. Candice Dupree led the Sky with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Armintie Price was fast and tenacious in nearly 28 minutes of play defending Sparks rookie Candace Parker, holding her to only 12 points and 7 rebounds, tying her season low.

SKY VS. MERCURY HISTORY

The Sky is winless (0-4) against the Mercury and hopes to net a franchise-first win in Phoenix this week. In the Sky's most recent game against the Mercury on July 27, 2007, the teams played a tight game, but the Mercury edged the Sky in the final minutes of the game, 98-96.

SKY VS. MONARCHS

The Sky is 2-3 lifetime against the Sacramento Monarchs. The Sky earned the first win of the 2008 season in the home opener on May 22, with an 87-77 victory over the Monarchs. Candice Dupree and Armintie Price led the way with 22 points each, a career-high for Price. The Sky set a franchise record for field goal percentage, with 57.1% on 32-of-56, and the team's 21 fast break points were the second highest in team history.

SKY PARTNERS WITH PITNEY BOWES TO RAISE MONEY FOR LITERACY PROGRAM

The Sky is partnering with Pitney Bowes to raise literacy awareness through a special "Fast Break to Reading" ticket offer that will raise money for Chicago's Reading is Fundamental programs. As a WNBA partner, Pitney Bowes is working with six WNBA teams, including the Sky, on a special group ticket initiative that will raise money for reading organizations and ultimately offer one city the chance to win a new Reading and Learning Center. For this initiative, Pitney Bowes and the Sky are offering these special "Fast Break to Reading" game tickets for five select games, and a portion of the proceeds from each ticket purchased will be donated to Chicago's Reading is Fundamental chapter. The four remaining games include July 10 at 6 p.m. vs. San Antonio, July 13 at 5:00 p.m. vs. Atlanta, July 22 at 7:00 p.m. vs. Indiana and September 9 at 7 p.m. vs. Washington.
