Milwaukee Admirals Announce New Ownership Group

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Milwaukee Admirals Hockey Club and the Estate of Jane Pettit have entered into an agreement to sell the team to a group led by Milwaukee businessman Harris J. Turer, it was announced today by Fran Croak, Trustee of the Estate of Jane Pettit and Governor of the Milwaukee Admirals.

"We are pleased that the club is being purchased by a group that will ensure the future of Admirals hockey in Milwaukee, said Croak. "I know that they will bring a great deal of experience and enthusiasm to the franchise."

Turer, 39, is the President of Hometown Property Management, Inc., a Milwaukee property management company. He will be the Managing Member and principal shareholder in this new venture, which will be named Milwaukee Admirals, LLC.

Turer is also a member of the Milwaukee Brewers ownership group as well as the baseball team's Advisory Board.

"I have a great love for sports within our community," said Turer, a lifelong Milwaukeean. "The Admirals are a fantastic asset to the Milwaukee sports landscape and I look forward, along with the rest of our ownership group, to providing an affordable and entertaining experience for the fans when they visit the Bradley Center."

Other members of the new Milwaukee Admirals, LLC are: Mark Attanasio, Group Managing Director at the Trust Company of the West and Principal Owner of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club; Fran Croak; Gord Ash, Milwaukee Brewers Assistant General Manager, Curt Culver, Chairman and CEO of MGIC Investment Corporation; Peter Epperson, Owner of Missing Links and Brookfield Hills golf courses; Ric Gephardt, President and CEO of Injectec; Todd Krieg, Partner and Owner, Reinhart & Mahoney; Wayne Lueders, Partner and Chairman of Sports Industry Law Group at Foley & Lardner and Jay Williams, Chairman and Owner of The PrivateBank.

In addition, the new ownership group has tabbed Jon Greenberg to the position of President.

Greenberg, 37, has been with the Milwaukee Brewers since 1984 and has been the Director of Media Relations since 1994.

A lifelong Milwaukeean, Greenberg graduated from Marquette University High School in 1985 and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1989 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications.

"This is an amazing opportunity to work with a dynamic new ownership group," said Greenberg. "I am excited about what the future holds for the Milwaukee Admirals and their fans and grateful for the legacy left by Jane Pettit since 1976."

Greenberg will also be a part of the new ownership group.

Jane and Lloyd Pettit originally purchased the Admirals from Bill Chimo in December, 1976. In the summer of 1977, they purchased an International Hockey League franchise and the team then moved to the American Hockey League in 2001.

The new Milwaukee Admirals LLC is committed to formally completing the sale transaction with the American Hockey League and the Estate of Jane Pettit over the next several weeks.
