Big Finish Weekend for Wolf Pack

April 14, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Connecticut Whale News Release

HARTFORD: The Hartford Wolf Pack will play a big role in determining their own fate with three games in three days this coming weekend. With six points up for grabs, the Wolf Pack would need all six and three regulation losses by the Manchester Monarchs to move into first place in the Atlantic. However, the team has the franchise record for most wins on the line. Another win will tie the record and a second will set a new franchise mark.

The Wolf Pack face-off against the Albany River Rats on Friday, the last Guida's Family Value Night of the season. A family of four can enjoy the game, refreshments and receive a souvenir for $44.00.

On Saturday the team travels to Springfield to face the Falcons, before returning to the Hartford Civic Center on Sunday to face those same Falcons at 4:05 p.m. in their last game of the regular season. Before the game, the GEICO Connecticut Cup will be presented to Mayor Eddie A. Perez and team captain Ken Gernander. The Pack won the inaugural cup after beating the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in their season series 6-2-2-0.

After the game, the team will present its awards and hold its annual "Shirts Off Our Backs" promotion. This year's team awards are for Community Service, Character, the Wolf Pack Booster Club's Fan Favorite, Unsung Hero and MVP. All fans will have an opportunity to win that night's game-worn jerseys, through a drawing made from all ticket stubs and the players will personally hand over their sweater to the lucky fans after the game.

The first round of the playoffs will begin Thursday or Friday, April 21 or 22 at 7:05 p.m., depending on who the Wolf Pack will play. Regardless of who the Wolf Pack play, game two at home is scheduled for Saturday, April 23 at 7:05 p.m.

Individual tickets for the Wolf Pack's first two home games (Games A and B) are on sale now at the Hartford Civic Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations and on the web at www.hartfordwolfpack.com. Individual tickets for the first round are available for as little as $9.00 for youth and $17.00 for adults. Playoff ticket strips (all 16 games) are on sale now by calling (860) 548-2000. Prices start as low as $198.40 for adults and $107.20 for youth 16 and under.

The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
