Milner Tosses Complete-Game Shutout

Hoby Milner (8-6) gave up just three hits and went the distance for the Fightin Phils (56-72) as he led them to a 1-0 win over the Binghamton Mets (76-51). Milner tossed the first complete-game shutout since May 28, 2012 when David Buchanon did it against Harrisburg.

Jake Fox hit a RBI single in the bottom of the 4th inning with two outs off Steven Matz to score Albert Cartwright and give Reading a 1-0 lead. Milner retired 26 of 29 batters faced as he gave up just two singles and one double on the day. Albert Cartwright went 3 for 4 on the afternoon. Jake Fox, KC Serna, Raywilly Gomez and Edgar Duran each had one hit.

The Fightin Phils are off tomorrow then will begin a three-game series on Tuesday night against the Bowie Baysox. First pitch from Prince George's Stadium is at 6:35 pm.
