
Fisher Cats Walk to 3-2 Win over Akron

MANCHESTER, NH--- Cory Aldridge tied the contest with a two-run single and Mike McDade followed with a bases loaded walk which proved to be the difference in the Fisher Cats 3-2 win over Akron on Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
Gregory Infante worked two innings of scoreless relief for his 19th save as New Hampshire finished the homestand with a 3-3 mark.
Akron (70-58) had taken a 2-0 lead with single runs in the top of the third and fourth innings. Tim Fedroff homered in the third and Jake Lowery singled home a run in the fourth.
New Hampshire (61-66) rallied to take the lead with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Fisher Cats sent nine men to the plate, taking advantage of four walks and a hit batsman. Jorge Flores walked, Melky Mesa was hit by pitch and Andy Burns walked. Cory Aldridge singled home two runs to tie the game at 2-2. Kevin Nolan walked to load the bases and Mike McDade drew a walk to put the Fisher Cats up.
Austin Bibens-Dirkx (6-2) allowed two runs in six innings for the win. He allowed six hits, did not walk a batter and struck out five. Scott Gracey added a scoreless seventh.
Joe Colon (8-7) threw five scoreless innings before losing control in the sixth and took the loss for the RubberDucks. He allowed three hits and three runs. Colon walked five and struck out two.
The Fisher Cats open a three-game series on Tuesday night in Trenton. RHP P. J. Walters (1-1, 3.52) will pitch the opener for New Hampshire. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Coverage with Bob Lipman begins at 6:45 p.m. on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and at www.nhfishercats.com.
