Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that left wing Adam Miller and center Judd Blackwater have been named the ECHL's Silver Skaters, with goaltender Mitch O'Keefe selected as the team's Golden Goalie. The three Wranglers players will wear special jerseys tomorrow night as Las Vegas hosts the Colorado Eagles at 7:05 p.m.
In lieu of an all-star game this season, fans voted across the ECHL for top skaters and goalies for each member team of the league. Miller and Blackwater will don a special Wranglers jersey with a metallic silver logo, and O'Keefe will wear a golden Wranglers jersey. All of the Silver Skater and Golden Goalie jerseys will be available for bid through The MeiGray Group .
Miller, 27, has collected 74 points (29 goals, 45 assists) in 65 games so far this season, good for fourth best in the ECHL. The 6'0'',198-pound left wing currently holds the Wranglers club record for most career points, setting a new record of 207 points in the March 9 game against the Ontario Reign. The 2011-12 season is Miller's fourth with the team.
Blackwater, 24, recently returned to Las Vegas after a 17-game stint with the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Heat. In 40 games with the Wranglers this season, the 6'0'', 193-pound center has tallied 47 points (17 goals, 30 assists) and 36 penalty minutes. Before his call-up, Blackwater went on an 11-game point-scoring streak, recording 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists) from Oct. 27 to Nov. 19.
O'Keefe, 27, has gone 7-9-0 in 18 games for the Wranglers this season, earning a 2.75 goals-against average and a 0.902 save percentage. The 6'2'', 210-pound netminder recently went on a three-game winning streak, finishing a sweep of the Idaho Steelheads and taking two games in a row from the Reign earlier this month.
The Wranglers take on the Colorado Eagles tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. before a weekend series against the Steelheads. Saturday, March 24, marks the return of Regrettable Tattoo Night, where fans with the worst tattoos can win tattoo removal and cover-up prizes.
Playoff tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK. Fans can lock in their seats by purchasing playoff strip tickets starting at $18 per game.
