Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
DAYTON, Ohio - Shelby Miller (4-4) set the tone on the mound for the River Bandits by going seven shutout innings to earn his fourth win of the season as the Bandits completed their sweep of the Dayton Dragons with a 5-0 win. He allowed just three hits and struck out five while shutting down the Dragons in his longest start of his professional career.
The Bandits gave Miller some room to work with by plating three runs in the top of the fourth. Matt Adams doubled home Devin Goodwin and Alan Ahmady. Adams scored later in the inning on an RBI single by C.J. Beatty.
That would be all the Bandits would need though they would add two more in the sixth on their way to the 5-0 win.
Homer Baily (0-1) suffered the loss for the Dragons after allowing three of the Bandits five runs over four innings worked.
The River Bandits finished the road trip 5-1 and return home to open a three-game series with the Kane County Cougars on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 7:00 at Modern Woodmen Park.
