April 2, 2008 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Montreal Alouettes News Release

Following a glorious 13-year CFL career, including seven seasons with the Montreal Alouettes, running back Mike Pringle, arguably the best running back in league history, will be inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in September.

Pringle dominated the CFL over his career, re-writing the team and league record books, breaking almost every rushing mark possible. He won three Grey Cups, including once with the Alouettes in 2002.

Among Pringle's most remarkable records are the CFL markers for most career rushing yards (16,425), most rushing yards in a season (2,065), most 100-yard career rushing games (70) and most 100-yard rushing games in a season (14). He was named CFL's Most Outstanding Player in 1995 and 1998 and was a CFL All-Star in 1994, '95, '97, '98, '99, '00 and '03.

Pringle becomes the 16th Alouette named to the Hall, following the most recent induction of Pierre Vercheval in 2007. In 2005, the Alouettes bestowed the ultimate team honour upon Pringle, retiring his famous Number 27 from the roster - making him the seventh player to receive such an honour. Following the announcement of his jersey retirement, Pringle signed a one-day contract with Montreal and officially announced his retirement as a member of the Alouettes.
