Winnipeg Blue Bombers News Release
WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Rifles announced today that Winnipeg Blue Bombers' President and CEO Lyle Bauer will be the guest of honour at the junior football team's annual fundraising dinner.
This year's Rifles Roast will take place Wednesday, April 30 at Canad Inns-Polo Park. This is the sixth annual Rifles Roast and it promises to be even larger than previous dinners that have seen Chris Walby, Trevor Kennerd, Paul Robson and Bob Sokalski all take their shots for the team.
A portion of this year's proceeds will go to the Never Alone Foundation, which supports cancer education and research through CancerCare Manitoba.
A proud Canadian Junior Football League alumnus, Bauer played with both the Calgary Colts and the Saskatoon Hilltops before going on to enjoy a distinguished CFL career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He has remained passionate about the value of junior football and has been a significant supporter of the Winnipeg Rifles dating back to their inception six years ago.
Tickets for the Rifles Roast are $150 each while tables will be available for $1,500. Partial tax receipts are available.
