Meyer Placed on Disabled List, Auer and Campos Join Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (August 19, 2010) - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club has placed infielder Drew Meyer on the Disabled List with a left knee sprain and promoted outfielder Tyson Auer to Salt Lake from Double-A Arkansas. In additional movement, infielder Jesus Campos has been promoted to Salt Lake from Rookie-League Orem.

Meyer, 28, has appeared in 32 games for the Bees in 2010, hitting .276 with seven doubles, one home run and 13 RBI. Meyer also appeared in 46 games for Triple-A Round Rock this season, hitting .241 with six doubles, two home runs, and 16 RBI. The Charleston, S.C. native was originally drafted by the Texas Rangers in the first round of the 2002 draft and joined the Angels via free agency in July 2010.

Auer, 24, has appeared in 44 games for the Travelers in 2010, hitting .308 with eight doubles, two home runs and eight RBI. He has also appeared in 65 games for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga this season, hitting .332 with six doubles, eight triples, three home runs and 27 RBI. Auer was named a 2010 California League All-Star. The Longwood, Fla. native originally signed with the Angels as a non-drafted free agent in 2008. His first appearance with Salt Lake will be his Triple-A debut.

Campos, 22, has appeared in six games for the Owlz in 2010, posting one double and two RBI. In 17 games for Rancho Cucamonga this season, he hit .230 with one home run and 10 RBI. He has also appeared in three games for the Bees in 2010, going 2-for-5 with a run and a walk. The South Gate, Calif. native was originally drafted by the Angels in the 24th round of the 2010 draft.
