
Meyer delivers RedHawk win

Two unlikely heroes hit timely home runs in the Oklahoma RedHawks' 4-3 win over the Memphis Redbirds Friday at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City.
Third baseman Aarom Baldiris hit his second home run of the season to tie the game at three in the seventh inning. Left fielder Drew Meyer hit his second of the year to lead off the ninth inning and give the RedHawks a walk-off win.
Meyer and Baldiris batted eighth and ninth, respectively, in the RedHawk order Friday.
It was Meyer's first home run since May 28 at New Orleans. He finished the night two-for-four with an RBI. Second baseman Eric Young was three-for-four with two doubles and a triple.
Starting pitcher Eric Knott made his RedHawk debut and went 5.2 innings and gave up three runs on eight hits, all singles, with a walk and a strikeout. He gave up no runs on four hits through his first five innings.
The RedHawks had a 2-0 lead going into the sixth when the Redbirds scored three runs on five hits. Memphis catcher Michel Hernandez had an RBI double to cap the inning. Hernandez and first baseman Derek Wathan both had three hits for Memphis.
The RedHawks have won 14 of their last 17 games. They begin a four-game road trip at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at Iowa's Principal Park in Des Moines . They return home Aug. 23 for a nine-game homestand against Omaha and Iowa. It will be their last homestand of the season.
