Mets Open Six-Game Home Stand Thursday

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (May 28, 2014) - Residents of the Treasure Coast who are searching for quality entertainment without breaking the bank this week need to look no further than Tradition Field.

The St. Lucie Mets return to action at home for six straight days beginning Thursday, and there's plenty of fan friendly bargains to be had.

The six-game home stand starts on Thursday as the Mets welcome the Brevard County Manatees to town. The Manatees are the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The first two games of the series between the Mets and Manatees came on Tuesday and Wednesday at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Fla. The series shifts south to Tradition Field Thursday and Friday. Both games begin at 6:30 p.m.

The popular Dollar Night returns on Thursday. Fans can enjoy $1 draft beers from 5:30-8:30 p.m., plus $1 soda and $1 hot dogs.

Friday night is Bark in the Park. Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the Tradition Field berm for just $2 dollars. Humans with a dog get in for $4.

Friday is also Ladies Night with $3 wells and $2 beers for the ladies at the Tiki Bar from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Kids Club members get in free on Friday and there is a postgame sprint around the bases for kids 12 and under.

The Manatees feature three of the top six prospects in the Brewers organization, including speedy center fielder Tyrone Taylor, who is the No. 2 prospect for Milwaukee.

The Mets counter with one of the best trio of hitters at the top of the order in baseball. Dilson Herrera and T.J. Rivera are at the top of all MiLB in hits, while Brandon Nimmo has walked more than anyone in the minors and is the Mets' No. 6 prospect according to MLB.com.

On Saturday the Daytona Cubs, the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, ride into Port St. Lucie to begin a four-game series. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.

Highlighting Saturday is the All You Can Drink Corona Light promo at the Bullpen Bar in the Party Zone. For just $10 fans can sip all you can drink Corona Light from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This includes the price of a ticket.

Sunday against the Cubs is the return of Sunday Brunch. For just $15 fans can get a ticket the game and brunch, which includes a carving station, omelet station, hot dog station, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, danishes, rolls, yogurt, coffee, tea and discounted mimosas and Bloody Mary's.

Brunch begins at 11:30 a.m. with first pitch coming at 1 p.m.

On Monday, all kids 12 and under get in free.

The home stand wraps up with a $2 Tuesday. Beer and soda is on sale for just $2, and fans showing proof at the box office that they follow @stluciemets on Twitter gain entree for $2.

The Cubs are the defending Florida State League champions, although they are in second to last place in the North Division this season. Dayton is led by outfielder Albert Almora, the No. 15 prospect in all of baseball.

Tickets for all six games start at just $6.50. All games start at 6:30 p.m. except for Sunday, which is a 1 p.m. start. Gates open one hour prior to first pitch (11:30 a.m. for Sunday brunch).
