MetroStars Place Edgar Bartolomeu on Waivers

SECAUCUS, NJ (Wednesday, March 3, 2004) - The MetroStars announced today that they have placed Senior International Edgar Bartolomeu on waivers. He will be available to other teams in the MLS Waiver Draft, which will be conducted on Thursday, March 4th at 3:00 p.m. ET via conference call from League headquarters in New York.

A Senior International from Angola, Bartolomeu was acquired by the Metros from the Chicago Fire on June 25, 2003 as compensation for the rights to midfielder Andy Williams. The 27-year old defender/midfielder, made his MLS debut in 2003, playing in 13 games (starting 11) for the MetroStars. He has also seen time with the Philadelphia Kixx (MISL), Buffalo Blizzard (NPSL), Toronto Lynx (A-League) and Long Island Rough Riders (USL Pro-Select League).
