MetroStars Host Blast with New Coaching Staff

March 1, 2019 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
Mississauga MetroStars News Release

The Mississauga MetroStars will face their Eastern Division rivals the Baltimore Blast for the fifth time this season, and their third meeting at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, on Sunday. For the first time this season the MetroStars will be led by a new coaching staff. Head Coach Rick Titus, who was installed on Wednesday, and his assistant John Williams, will guide the Mississauga club for the remainder of the season following a 3-13 start under previous coach Phil Ionadi.

? ?The MetroStars are coming off two consecutive defeats last weekend, an 8-4 loss to Utica City FC at home last Friday followed by a 9-5 defeat to the Heat in Harrisburg on Sunday. Those two losses came on the heels of a sensational come-from-behind 6-5 win over Harrisburg two weeks ago at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.

? ?The Blast come into this match having split their home weekend doubleheader last week, following up a 5-2 loss to Milwaukee Wave with a 6-2 win over Eastern Division leaders Utica. The Blast sit just 1 1/2 games behind City FC in the Eastern Division standings with a game in hand.

? ?With eight games remaining in the season, the MetroStars will be looking to close out the current campaign on a positive note as the expansion franchise focuses on retooling for the 2019/20 MASL season.

? ?The MetroStars face the Baltimore Blast at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre Sunday, March 3, with kickoff set for 3:05pm (ET). The game will be streamed live on MASL.tv at MASLsoccer.com.
