Merrifield & Graterol Return; McClure Transferred

The Kansas City Royals announced a pair of transactions in the last two days affecting the Northwest Arkansas Naturals Roster as the team looks to stretch their home winning streak to four with in evening contest against the Arkansas Travelers. OF Whit Merrifield was activated yesterday off of the 7-Day Disabled List. Today the Organization announced Catcher Juan Graterol has returned from a three-day stint in Wilmington and INF Alex McClure has been transferred to the Royal's Carolina League Affiliate.

Juan Graterol likely had an interesting past three days. The Catcher was transferred to the Blue Rocks (A-Wilmington) before last weekend and joined the team in

Winston-Salem, NC. After a three-game series Graterol has been transferred back to Northwest Arkansas to join the Naturals who have won three in a row at

Arvest Ballpark. Graterol caught all but three of RHP Yordano Ventura's start for the Naturals and in 21 games was 12-for-63 (1.90) including the eventual game

winning homerun in the 20th inning of the Naturals gutty victory over the Cardinals at Hammons Field last month.

Merrifield was activated yesterday, but did not enter the 7-5 Naturals victory. In 24 games, the outfielder was 6-for-31 (.194) and played all three outfield positions for Manager Brian Poldberg. He returns to the lineup tonight

Over the last two seasons McClure has hit .213 in 111 games with the Naturals playing mostly shortstop and second base.

The Naturals roster is currently at the Texas League limit of 25 players.
