
Sulbaran, Naturals Earn Third Straight Win

SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- The Northwest Arkansas Naturals continued their winning ways on Monday, earning a 6-5 win over the Arkansas Travelers. The Naturals have won a season-high three straight games, coming from behind to each game.
Arkansas took the lead on a Taylor Lindsey triple in the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. The Naturals got the run back in the bottom half of the inning without a hit. Whit Merrifield reached on a leadoff walk, stole second and scored on a pair of wild pitches from Travs starter Mike Piazza.
Lindsey led off the third inning with his tenth home run of the season, with two more runs scoring on a C.J. Cron two-run double to give the Travelers a 4-1 lead. Lindsey went three-for-five with a pair of triples and a home run. Randal Grichuk went two-for-four with a pair of singles.
Northwest Arkansas scored four runs in the third to take the lead. Juan Graterol reached on a leadoff single and scored on a single by Matt Fields. Yem Prades brought home Brian Fletcher on a single to cut the Travs lead to one, with Fields and Prades crossing the plate on Mitch Canham's two-out double which gave the Naturals a 5-4 lead
The Naturals added an insurance run in the seventh as Orlando Calixte reached on a leadoff single and advanced to second on an error. Calixte advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Fields single for what proved to be the game-winning run.
J.C. Sulbaran earns his second win of the season. Sulbaran threw four scoreless innings, allowing two hits while striking out two batters. Zack Jackson allowed one run on two hits but struck out Robbie Widlansky to end the game as he earned his third save of the year. Jon Keck allowed a leadoff single to start the eighth but worked out of a jam for a scoreless innings. Andy Ferguson, making his second start of the season, allowed four runs, two earned, on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts in three innings.
Mike Piazza falls to 2-2 with the loss. Piazza allowed five runs, all earned, on six hits with four walks and nine strikeouts in 5.2 innings. Ryan Chaffee allowed an unearned run on two hits in 1.1 innings.
The Naturals will go for the four-game sweep as the series wraps up tomorrow night at 7 p.m. Felipe Paulino is scheduled to make a Major League rehab start for the Naturals. Brandon Hynick (4-3, 3.40 ERA) is scheduled to make the start for the Travelers.
