Memphis 901 FC News Release
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis 901 FC forward Phillip Goodrum and defender Patrick Seagrist were named to the USL Championship Team of the Week for Week 28, the league announced on Tuesday.
The forward has accounted for six goals in the last two matches after a hat trick in a 4-0 rout of Atlanta United 2 last week and two goals and an assist on a Goal of the Week nominee to Laurent Kissiedou in the 5-0 victory over Charleston Battery on Friday. Goodrum was one goal shy of being just the second player in USL Championship history to record hat tricks in consecutive matches.
Goodrum's 8th and 12th minute goals put his season total at 19, second most in the USL Championship with five matches remaining in the race for the golden boot. Memphis is unbeaten in 14 of the 15 matches in which the Tennessee native has found the back of the net.
Seagrist tallied one assist on two chances created on the offensive end while helping keep a clean sheet in the shutout victory over Charleston. The defender has four assists and a goal in 28 appearances this season.
The battle between the top two clubs in the Eastern Conference is set for Friday, September 23 as 901 FC travels to face Louisville City FC at Lynn Family Stadium with kickoff set at 7 p.m.
