
Memorial Cup Champs Sign 2009 First Round Pick Austen Brassard

(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce that they have signed Windsor native Austen Brassard to an OHL contract and education package. The Spitfires selected Brassard with their first round pick in this year's OHL Priority Selection. A 6'2, 180 pound right-winger, Brassard scored 55 goals and 121 points with 111 penalty minutes in 69 games played with the Windsor Jr. Spitfires Minor Midget AAA team last season.
"We're excited to add a local boy and player of Austen's caliber to our team. He's a very exciting player who has a blue collar work ethic and great skill. Austen will be a big part of our team in the years to come," said Windsor Spitfires Vice-President and General Manager Warren Rychel.
