Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals received a pair of late markers, which included Jared Legien's game winner with 18 seconds left in regulation, as the club earned a 4-3 victory over the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Notes:

Moving on Up - With two markers tonight, Igor Martynov moved into second among all rookies in the WHL for most goals with nine. The product of Krasnoye, Belarus is also fifth in the WHL rookie point race with 16 (9g-6a) in 25 games.

WHL First - Victoria's Remy Aquilon, a 2001-born blueliner, skated in his first WHL contest tonight. The product of Kelowna, BC has spent this season with the Okanagan Rockets of the British Columbia Major Midget Hockey League.

Make it Three - With his marker, Matthew Phillips now has points in three straight contests and has earned four goals and three assists during that span.

Mr. 150 - Royals' blueliner Jared Freadrich suited up in his 150th career WHL game tonight. Freadrich has earned 65 points (15g-50a) in his WHL career while playing for the Regina Pats (2015-16), Red Deer Rebels (2016-17) and Victoria.

Familiar Face - Seattle forward Blake Bargar played his first contest at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre since he was a member of the Royals in the 2016-17 campaign. In 61 games with Victoria, Bargar registered 10 points (6g-4a).

Island Connection: Thunderbirds' forward Tyler Carpendale, who played for the Westshore Wolves of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League last season, took part the first WHL contest in Victoria of his career tonight.
