The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Vancouver Giants 3-2 on Friday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley.

The Rockets got on the board first as Carsen Twarynski(14) scored a shorthanded marker 1:31 in to the opening frame. Vancouver's Brendan Semchuk(7) evened things up at 4:03 and the score was 1-1 after 20 minutes.

Kyle Topping(10) collected a power play goal at 2:26 of the middle period to pull the Rockets ahead, but Dawson Holt(3) responded for the Giants 40 seconds later. The score was 2-2 after 40 minutes.

3:13 in to the final frame Dillon Dube collected his 13th of the season on a Rockets power play to take a 3-2 lead and that score would stand as the Rockets take it.

James Porter's record improves to 10-4-2-0 after stopping 30 of the 32 shots he faced. The Rockets were out shot 32-24.

Kelowna's record improves to 13-8-2-1.

The Rockets now head back home for a Saturday night meeting with the Medicine Hat Tigers. Puck drop on tomorrow night is at 7:05pm at Prospera Place.
