Spokane, WA- The Victoria Royals were bested 8-6 by the Spokane Chiefs in a high-scoring affair on Friday night at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

Notes:
Hot Streak - Four Royals' players extended their point streaks in today's game. Matthew Phillips has registered 22 points (7g-15a) in nine consecutive games. Tyler Soy has tallied nine points (3g-5a), while Scott Walford has earned assists in four straight contests. Eric Florchuk has recorded four points his last three games (2g-2a).
Shorthanded Success - Victoria's Florchuk recorded the Royals' fifth shorthanded goal of the year, which is the highest total among all WHL teams. The club has now tallied shorthanded markers in three straight games.
Offensive Outburst - Tonight's game set the Royals' record for most total goals in a regular season contest with 14. The previous record was 13 and most recently occurred on December 17, 2014 in a 7-6 shootout loss to the Everett Silvertips.
Offensive Flare - With five goals tonight, Victoria has now scored 56 times through nine contests for an average of 6.2 markers per game which is the best mark in the WHL.
Multi-Goal Games - Following Florchuk's two goal effort, the club has now tallied 11 multi-goal performances in nine games this year.
A First for Everything - Chiefs' defenceman Filip Kral, who hails from Bransko, Czech Republic, registered his first WHL point in his first contest in the league.
Next Up - The Royals will continue their road trip tomorrow night when they face the Seattle Thunderbirds. Victoria will return from their season long road trip on Saturday, October 28th to play the Vancouver Giants.
