
Mechanic win streak on line tonight

Motor City Mechanics News Release
The Motor City Mechanics open the 2005-2006 UHL Season Tonight in St. Louis against the Missouri River Otters. The Mechanics open the new season riding a 12 game regular season winning streak, the longest winning streak in professional hockey. Motor City plays at Quad City tomorrow night before completing the three game opening road trip at Rockford on Sunday. The Mechanics return home October 28th and 29th for an opening weekend celebration at the "Garage" in Fraser.
The Mechanics have acquired the rights to Brent Gretzky, brother of NHL Hall of Famer and Phoenix Coyotes coach Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky, a native of Brantford, Ontario is scheduled to join the team on Tuesday. Gretzky has played more than ten professional seasons of hockey, including 37 games last season with Danbury of the UHL, and four years with Port Huron and Fort Wayne prior to that. During the 2002-2003,2003-2004 Seasons with the Port Huron Beacons, Gretzky scored 74 goals and accumulated more than 140 points for the Beacons. An official announcement will be made on Monday.
