Let The Season Begin

FRASER, MI- The Motor City Mechanics, proud members of the United Hockey League (UHL) are excited to finally drop the puck on the 2005-06 season and look to continue their winning streak when they travel to Missouri, Quad City and Rockford.

The Mechanics face-off against the River Otters of Missouri tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. The Otters return seven players from the 2004-05 roster, including Centerman Lars Patterson who was their leading scorer with 66 points.

On Saturday the Mechanics travel to Quad City to face the Mallards at the Mark of the Quad Cities; face-off is slated for 7:00 p.m. The Mallards have wiped the slate clean and only return two players from their 2004-05 roster. Patrick Nadeau and Anthony Blummer are the only two who remain.

The final day of the road trip finds the Mechanics facing off in Rockford to play the IceHogs at the Rockford MetroCentre; face-off is at 3:05 p.m. Rockford features nine returning players including the Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Year, Michel Robinson. Robinson went an impressive 33-22-9 with a 2.47 GAA and seven shutouts.

Join the Mechanics for the home opening weekend when they face off against the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday October 28th, and the Port Huron Flags on Saturday October 29th.

Every fan that enters the Garage on October 28th will receive a complimentary opening night collectible game puck sponsored by McDonald's. Opening night is also a youth hockey celebration as all youth teams are encouraged to come join the fun and participate in the first intermission team parade, and meet McDonald's own, Ronald McDonald! On October 29th SVS Vision is presenting magnetic schedules as well as all kids are encouraged to wear costumes to the game and trick-or-treat with the Mechanics after the game.
