McNiven Named Becker Shoes Player of the Week

The Owen Sound Attack has named goaltender Michael McNiven their Becker Shoes Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 5th.
McNiven, who is fresh off signing an NHL contract with the Montreal Canadiens appeared in both Attack games last week, gathering a win and a shootout loss.
On Wednesday, McNiven turned aside 30 or 32 shots in a 5-2 win over the visiting Flint Firebirds.
The Attack hosted the Soo Greyhounds on Saturday night and McNiven was once again stellar, turning aside 37 of 40 shots, including many prime chances in overtime to give the Attack an opportunity in the shootout.
McNiven finished the weekend with a 2.40 GAA and a .931 save percentage.
The 6'1 backstop has played all four Attack games so far, posting a 3-0-0-1 recrod to go along with a 2.13 GAA and a .932 save percentage with one shutout.
