Sarnia Sting News Release
The Sarnia Sting earned 4 of a possible 6 points on their Northern road swing last weekend, picking up wins over the Barrie Colts and the Sudbury Wolves while dropping a 5-4 decision to the North Bay Battalion.
Thursday night in Barrie was a night of firsts for the Sarnia Sting as they topped the CHL's 3rd ranked team by a score of 1-0. Goaltender, Justin Fazio earned his first career OHL shutout; first round pick, Sasha Chmelevksi picked up his first career OHL goal; and the Sarnia Sting earned their first road win of the 2015-16 season. Sasha Chmelevski's first OHL goal proved to be the winner in a 1-0 Sting win over the Colts.
The comeback fell short on Friday night in North Bay as the Sting dropped a 5-4 decision to the Battalion on Centennials night at Memorial Gardens. Scoring for the Sting was Nikita Korostelev, Alex Black, Patrick White & Anthony Salinitri. Article Â
Brett McKenzie scored a goal and two assists in a 5-4 Battalion win over the Sting.
Sophomore forward, Troy Lajeunesse led the way for the Sting on Sunday afternoon in Sudbury - netting his first career OHL hat-trick. The Sting closed out the road swing with a 5-2 win over the Wolves, improving the club's record to 3-2 on the year.
