Erie Otters News Release

Erie, Pennsylvania - Erie Otters General Manager Dave Brown announced today that the team has traded overage forward Mason Marchment and the team's fourth round pick in 2016 to the Hamilton Bulldogs in exchange for the Sarnia Sting's third round pick and Saginaw Spirit's ninth round pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.

Marchment, a 20-year-old native of Uxbridge, Ontario, signed with the Otters as a free agent after a training camp invite in 2014. The son of former NHLer Bryan Marchment left the Cobourg Cougars of the OJHL to play his first OHL season with Erie in 2014-15, where he appeared in 54 regular season games scoring eight goals and collecting 26 points.

The deal moves the Otters back into the third round of the 2016 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection where, prior to the trade, they did not hold a draft position.

Brown also announced the reassignment of forward Frankie Pucci to the Niagara Falls Canucks of the GOJHL.

Pucci, a native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, appeared in one game with the Otters this season. The 18-year-old winger tallied 17 goals and 42 points for the Canucks in 46 games played during the 2014-15 season.
