McLean Becomes Thirty-Eighth Former Wheeling Player to Make NHL Debut

WHEELING, WV - Former Wheeling Nailers forward Kurtis Mclean made his NHL debut Monday afternoon with the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. McLean posted two shots in his debut.

McLean has spent a majority of his four professional seasons between the ECHL and the American Hockey League. McLean, 28, appeared in 57 ECHL games with the Nailers between 2005 and 2007.

McLean becomes the 38th former player to play in the NHL .

The Wheeling Nailers host the Mississippi Seawolves Saturday January 31st. Face-off is set for 8:05 pm. The first 2500 fans will receive a Reno Saccoccia bobble head. Call 304-234-4625 to order tickets.
