Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators rebounded from an early two-run deficit to come back and win 3-2 over the Akron RubberDucks on Friday night in front of 3,976 fans at Metro Bank Park.
Scott McGregor was impressive once again for the Senators as he threw seven innings, allowing just two runs on five hits. The two runs came in the third inning on four hits. McGregor allowed just a single and retired every other batter he faced. The right-hander struck out six while walking none. Tyler Herron recorded a six-out save, his fourth of the season, by shutting down the RubberDucks in the final two innings.
Offensively, the Senators took some time to get started, but in the fifth Adrian Sanchez singled and stole second. Michael Taylor followed with a two-out, RBI single into center field to cut Akron's lead to 2-1. Then in the sixth, Matt Skole led off with a single. Kevin Keyes reached on a throwing error and Jason Martinson sacrificed the two runners to second and third with a bunt up the third base line. Quincy Latimore was then walked to load the bases. The next batter, Oscar Tejeda, watched a wild pitch from Akron's Will Roberts hop behind home allowing Skole to score from third. Later in the at-bat, Tejeda lifted a go-ahead sacrifice fly to center field on which Keyes scampered home from third.
The Senators and RubberDucks will begin game three of the weekend series tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. Paolo Espino will start for Harrisburg against Akron's Shawn Morimando. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 5:45 p.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.
