Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive once again took the victory in Asheville winning 9-6. Tyler McDonough stood out as the game's most exciting player with a homer and four RBIs.
The past two games were an absolute blowout, but tonight was a closer win. The Tourists were the first to get on the board. Nerio Rodriguez homered on a fly ball to left center field and brought Luis Sanatana home with him.
The Drive's Tyler McDonough rounded the bases in the third putting Greenville on the board. Later in the fifth, he hit a double on a fly and Tyler Esplin and Antoni Flores came home.
The Tourists bats didn't back down. Will Wagner bombs one out. Deury Carrasco and Michael Sandle rounded the bases with Wagner.
Ceddanne Rafaela put some power behind his bat late in the game and batted in Esplin and Flores. Rafaela had a mad dash around the bases in the seventh inning on an RBI double that evolved into a Little League homer.
Catcher Jaxx Groshans got a piece of the action in the eighth. The Drive put the nail in the coffin with Gilberto Jimenez's RBI double.
The Greenville Drive will continue the series with Asheville Tourists. First pitch is slated for 6:35 PM.
