Ottawa 67's News Release

The Ottawa 67's, McDonald's Restaurants of Canada, and the Salvation Army have teamed up this year to bring the annual Teddy Bear Toss back to the Civic Centre.

Sunday, December 4, fans are encouraged to bring stuffed toys to the Ottawa 67's game at the Civic Centre. When the 67's score their first goal of the game, fans may throw their stuffed toys on the ice. All items will be collected by the Salvation Army and donated to families in need in the Ottawa area over the holiday season. In the five years that the Teddy Bear Toss has been held, over 9000 toys have been collected.

"We have watched the Teddy Bear Toss grow into an event that people now look forward to and mark on the calendar" 67's Owner & Governor Jeff Hunt stated. "The people of Ottawa have always been generous, especially at this time of year. We know that fans at the game on Friday will help contribute again to such a worthy event."

Major Max Bulmer and Michel Tasse from the Salvation Army and Michele Boudria from McDonald's Restaurants of Canada will be on hand for the ceremonial puck drop before the game.

As of 12:00 p.m. today, over 2000 tickets still remained for Sunday's 67's game vs. Peterborough Petes. Game time is 2:00 p.m.

Ottawa 67's ticket prices are one of the lowest in the OHL. Children 12 years old and under can enjoy affordable hockey action for only $11.00 per game, adults can take in a game for only $14.00 and students and seniors can watch for only $13.00. To purchase tickets, fans may visit the Ottawa 67's Store on Bank St. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays; call 599-FANS, or visit www.capitaltickets.ca.
