
McDonald Named Sound Tigers Captain

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Dec. 7, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Colin McDonald has been named team captain for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.
Second-year Sound Tiger Casey Cizikas was also named as an assistant captain for the rest of the 2012-13 campaign. Defenseman Jon Landry will wear the second assistant captain's "A" for all Sound Tigers home games, while forward Matt Watkins will serve as the second assistant for all road contests.
McDonald, 28, is in his first season with the New York Islanders organization and sixth season of professional hockey. The New Haven, CT native has posted 12 points (two goals, 10 assists) in 19 games this season, and will wear the "C" for the first time in his professional career.
Cizikas, 21, shows nine points in 15 games with the Sound Tigers this season. The Toronto, ON native ranked second in scoring with the Sound Tigers in his rookie campaign, notching 45 points (15 goals, 30 assists) in 52 games. The second-year pro also appeared in 15 games with the New York Islanders last season and registered four assists.
Landry, 29, leads all Sound Tigers defensemen with five goals in 21 games in his seventh professional season. The Montreal, PQ native recorded 20 points (two goals, 18 assists) in 34 games last season with the Sound Tigers. Watkins has appeared in all 21 games this season, totaling nine points thus far in his first season with the New York Islanders organization.
The Sound Tigers return to action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to the Times Union Center to face the Albany Devils at 5:00 p.m. The Sound Tigers return home on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3:00 p.m. to face the Syracuse Crunch.
