
McClure and Fletcher Join Naturals

SPRINGDALE, AR - The Naturals' parent club, the Kansas City Royals announced several transactions on Wednesday affecting the Northwest Arkansas roster infielder Alex McClure and outfielder Brian Fletcher have been transferred to the Naturals from the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Felipe Paulino also joins the team on a major league rehabilitation assignment.
McClure was having his best hitting month in Class-A Advanced Wilmington. The shortstop hit .282 in 14 games this month for the Blue Rocks. On the season, he is hitting .222 with 19 RBI. The Clarksville Tennessee native, is known more for his spectacular defense. McClure was selected in the 11th round of the 2010 draft out of Middle Tennessee State, and he will wear number two for the Naturals.
Fletcher spent time in left-field and at first base as a member of the Blue Rocks this season. He hit .289 with five home runs and 25 RBI in 67 games. Fletcher was selected in the 18th round of the June 2010 draft out of Auburn. Fletcher will wear number seven for the Naturals.
Paulino is back in Northwest Arkansas for his second rehab assignment with the team this season. Paulino is 1-0 with a 2.61 ERA in 10.1 innings of work for the Naturals this season. In order to make room for the new additions, infielder Sharlon Schoop was placed on the seven-day disabled list.
The Naturals roster is now at the Texas League's limit of 25 players and includes both Paulino and outfielder Lorenzo Cain on major league rehabilitation assignments. In order to make room for the additions
