COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Iowa Cubs' Scott McClain hit four home runs, six doubles, and 15 RBI to be named the PCL Player of the Week for the week of June 20-26. Kevin Correia of the Fresno Grizzles earns the Pitcher of the Week award for allowing just one run in 12 innings while striking out nine, becoming the second Fresno pitcher to earn the honor this season.
McClain, 33, originally from Sarasota, Florida, had four multi-hit and multi-RBI games to give him a .467 average on the week helping lead Iowa to a 6-1 record. He has 16 home runs and 48 RBI with a .281 AVG on the season. Scott returns to the PCL after playing the last four years in Japan and has been named a Triple-A All-Star three times in 1997, 1998, and 2000.
