Mayhem Score 6 in Dominant Win over Havoc

HUNTSVILLE, AL- The Macon Mayhem scored 6 goals for the second night in a row to defeat the Huntsville Havoc 6-3.

Stathis Soumelidis starting the scoring early just 1:36 into the game on a pass from Stephen Pierog. Soumelidis would follow up with his second goal of the night at 11:20 of the first. Pierog would pick up his second assist on the goal and Chris Joseph also picked up an assist on the goal.

The Havoc came out hungry in the second and Stuart Stefan took advantage of a Jake Trask tripping penalty scoring their first of two power play goals on the night. The Mayhem would answer with a goal from John Siemer assisted by Pierog for his third point of the evening. The Mayhem continued to pressure the Havoc and Dennis Sicard scored a power play goal at 14:21. Macon went to the locker room with a 4-1 lead after two.

Huntsville came out in the third striking quickly on their second power play goal of the evening just 1:43 into the period. The goal would come off the stick of Christan Powers assisted by Nutevitch and Kaiser. Scott Fellnermayr would score another goal for Huntsville less than three minutes later pulling the Havoc to within one. Jeff Sanders would follow up just 30 seconds later putting the puck between Tyler Steel's legs making the score 5-3. Dennis Sicard would follow up with his second goal of the evening at the 9:55 mark giving the Mayhem a 3 goal lead with just 10 minutes remaining in the game.

NOTABLE STATS

With the win, the Mayhem improve their record to 33-10-6 (72 points). Huntsville now falls to third with 67 points and the Fayetteville Fireantz are in second with 70 points. The Mayhem are now 19-6-2 on the road, and they picked up their second consecutive win in the Von Braun Center tonight.

Mike DeLaVargne started in net for Macon, saving 38 of the 41 shots he faced. The Mayhem scored six goals for the second consecutive night.

Stephen Pierog lead the Mayhem, scoring a single game career high three points - all assists, while Stathis Soumelidis, John Siemer and Dennis Sicard all recorded two points each on the evening.

The two teams travel back to Macon to play in a Sunday matinee game tomorrow at 4:05 PM.
