Macon Mayhem News Release

Scoring four straight goals after falling behind 2-0, the Macon Mayhem beat the Knoxville Ice Bears 4-2 Tuesday night in Knoxville.

The win is the fifth straight for the Mayhem, which equals the longest winning streak in the Southern Professional Hockey League this season. It also moves Macon past Knoxville into sole possession of seventh place, and the Mayhem has played three less games than Knoxville.

Knoxville opened the scoring on first period goals by Brad Powlowski and Brett Peppler. Peppler had also assisted on Powlowski's goal.

The Mayhem stormed back as the team's surging power play went to work. Nick Grasso and Joshua Ranalli each had power play goals in the second period to tie the score. Defenseman Mike Montrose assisted on each goal in the second period. Ryan Michel scored a power play goal at 12:01 in the third period, marking the first time in team history the team has scored three power play goals in a game.

Matt Robertson capped the scoring with an empty net goal with 47 seconds left to seal the win. Not only has the Mayhem won five straight, Tuesday's win is also the sixth triumph in the last seven games.

The four goals meets the Marco's Pizza three goal challenge. Fans who order from www.marcos.com on Wednesday and use the promo code MAYHEM will receive a 25% discount on their order.

Macon concludes a four game road trip Thursday at Fayetteville before returning home to host Louisiana Friday at 7:30 p.m.
