HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Tuesday announced goaltender Shannon Szabados of the Columbus Cottonmouths is the Easton Player of the Week for December 21-27.

Szabados stopped all 33 shots in a 3-0 win over Huntsville on Saturday, becoming the first female goaltender to record a shutout in a men's professional hockey game.  After her record achievement, Szabados received a congratulatory tweet from Hall of Fame goaltender Grant Fuhr among others.

Signed to the Cottonmouths during the last month of the 2013-14 season, Szabados has appeared in 39 games, starting in 38 of them.
