The Mayhem have traded center Justin Levac to the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in exchange for defenseman Brian Rowland. Rowland has been dealt to the Quad City Storm along with the rights to forward Sam Wilbur in exchange for forward Danny Cesarz.

"The opportunity presented itself to acquire Danny Cesarz, and it was an opportunity we couldn't pass up," Thomas said. "Adding a high-end guy like that as we make a run into the playoffs was a move that our team needed. He's an offensive, skilled guy. Unfortunately, we had to give up a player like Levac to get him here. We wish Levac the best for the rest of the season and thank him for everything he's done for the organization."

Levac (6'3, 216) had contributed 25 points (4G, 21A) through 41 games played and has been a staple as the Mayhem's second-line center for the bulk of the season. He ranked second on the team with a +18 rating and served as a critical faceoff man, as well. A pro hockey veteran of nine seasons now, the 29-year-old will head to Roanoke and bring his vast experience to a squad pursuing the Mayhem in the playoff race.

Wilbur has not played for the Mayhem since the last game of 2018. He has been in the ECHL since, playing first for the Tulsa Oilers and currently for the Rapid City Rush. In 25 games played with the Mayhem this season, the skilled right-winger tallied 17 points (5G, 12A) and boasted a +6 rating.

Cesarz joins the mix after a long and fruitful career with the Knoxville Ice Bears. He had played there for four seasons, registering a total of 161 games including playoffs. Over his four years, Cesarz (5'10, 195) tallied 45 goals, 89 assists, 134 points, 178 penalty minutes and was a +17 rating. He has produced at a point-per-game pace this season, ranking 11th in the SPHL in scoring despite only playing in 38 games. On the campaign, the 26-year-old has collected 38 points (12G, 26A).

The Redford, MI native promises to greatly impact the Mayhem's scoring upside, having been a consistently productive player in the SPHL since the 2015-16 season. He possesses a hard shot and acute playmaking instincts, making him well-suited for the power play. He has notched five points (2G, 3A) in as many games against Macon this season, three of which came on the man-advantage.

The Mayhem will visit the Crown Coliseum on Friday, March 8th to take on the Fayetteville Marksmen. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm EST.
