Lynx Notes
After missing last game due to soreness in her right foot, Kayla McBride led the way for Minnesota with 20 points, marking the sixth time in 11 games played this season that she has led the team in points. McBride connected on 9-of-15 shooting to score 20+ points for the third time this season and tallied four rebounds and three assists.
Aerial Powers added 10 points tonight, marking the 11th game this season she has scored in double figures. Powers led Minnesota for the second time in assists with seven, tying her career-high in the category.
In her first WNBA career start, Nikolina Milić added 11 points for the Lynx and led in rebounding for the first time this season with seven.
Off the bench, Jessica Shepard scored 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. In 23:18 minutes of play, Shepard grabbed six rebounds (five on the defensive end) and dished out two assists.
Team Notes
At the break, Minnesota tied their most points scored in a half, 46 (MR: June 5 at New York), also marking the most points Seattle has given up in the first half this season. The Lynx shot 21-of-37 from the field led by Milić and McBride who added nine each and combined for six rebounds and four assists.
For the second straight game, the Lynx dominated the paint by doubling Seattle's total, 48-24. Minnesota's 48 points tied their season-high for points in the paint (June 12 vs. Indiana). So far in the season series, the Lynx have outscored the Storm in the paint 90-56.
The Lynx tallied a season-high 27 assists to Seattle's 24, topping the previous season record of 23 (four times; MR June 12 vs Indiana), led by Powers' seven and Moriah Jefferson's six.
The Lynx open a two-game road trip on Sunday, June 19 to face the Las Vegas Aces for the second time this season. Tipoff is slated for 5:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcasted locally on Bally Sports North Extra and nationally on CBS Sports Network.
Storm Notes
Breanna Stewart had a game-high 29 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field, grabbed eight rebounds and had three assists in 31:50 minutes of action.
