Maxim Tissot with the Canadian National Team
March 19, 2015 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - Impact midfielder Maxim Tissot is part of the 23 players selected by the Canadian men's national team for two friendlies versus Guatemala and Puerto Rico on March 27 in Florida and March 30 in Puerto Rico.
The team will train in Orlando for three days before heading to Fort Lauderdale to face Guatemala, at Lockhart Stadium. The selection will then travel to Puerto Rico for a friendly at Estadio Juan Roman Loubriel, in Bayamon.
Tissot has played two games, including one start, with the Canadian national team, making his debut on January 16, 2015, against Iceland. He earned his first invitation with the team in November 2014 for a friendly against Panama, but didn't play in that game.
During the camp, Canada will find out who their first 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying opponents will be as the British Virgin Islands and Dominica will play off in a home-and-home series on March 26 and 29.
Canada is also in preparation for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will take place from July 7 to 26, 2015, in the U.S. and Canada. The champions of the 2015 edition will then face the U.S., champions of the 2013 edition, in a playoff game to determine the CONCACAF representative at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
