WEEK AHEAD

Tuesday, January 26 - Missouri Mavericks at Tulsa Oilers, 7:05 p.m. CST

Missouri travels to Tulsa to take on the Oilers Tuesday night looking for their first win in four games. The Mavericks are currently two points below Tulsa in the Northern Conference standings; however the teams will meet seven more times this season. The Oilers have won their past two games and six of their last 10. Mavericks' forward Jeff Christian has three goals in two games played against his former team and leads Missouri with five points (3-2=5) against Tulsa.

Friday, January 29 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Rapid City Rush, 7:05 p.m. CST

The Mavericks host the Rush looking for their first win over Rapid City. The Rush has won all four games in the season series and Friday night's game is the final game between the teams this season. Rapid City has outscored the Mavericks 19-7 in the four games including eight power play goals. The Rush have also outshot the Mavericks in every game of the season series averaging 39.8 shots per game compared to 27 shots per game for Missouri.

Saturday, January 30 - Missouri Mavericks vs. Allen Americans, 7:05 p.m. CST

The Americans come to Independence Events Center for the second time in as many weeks. Allen defeated Missouri 4-1 in the first matchup between the CHL's expansion teams last Thursday, January 21. Allen is currently in second place in the Southern Conference with 57 points and a 27-9-3 record. Saturday night will be the final game in Missouri between the teams as the Mavericks will travel to Allen in the final week of the regular season.

Thursday, January 21 - Missouri 1 vs. Allen 4

The Mavericks were defeated by the Allen Americans 4-1 in a battle of the CHL's expansion teams Thursday night at Independence Events Center. Jarret Lukin had a pair of goals for the Americans and Chris Whitley stopped 26 of 27 shots for his 18th win of the season. Mavericks' captain Carlyle Lewis had the team's only goal and Jeff Christian extended his scoring streak to 13 games with an assist.

Friday, January 22 - Missouri 2 at Mississippi 4

The Mississippi RiverKings scored four unanswered goals to defeat the Missouri Mavericks 4-2 at DeSoto Civic Center Friday night. Ryan Held had a pair of goals and Darrell Stoddard had two assists for the RiverKings who improved to 18-15-4. Mavericks' forward Jeff Christian had a goal and an assist and extended his scoring streak to a CHL-high 14 games.

Saturday, January 23 - Missouri 1 at Mississippi 5

The Missouri Mavericks lost their third straight game Saturday night, 5-1, to the Mississippi RiverKings at DeSoto Civic Center. Five different RiverKings scored goals including two on the power play as they completed the weekend sweep over the Mavericks. RiverKings' goaltender Mark Sibbald stopped 35 of 36 shots for the win, and the RiverKings improved their record to 19-15-4. Andrew Davis scored the only goal for the Mavericks on the power play, but Missouri fell to 17-19-3 on the season.

Notes

Scoring streak ends - Forward Jeff Christian's scoring streak ended on Saturday at 14 games. Christian had 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assists during the streak. It is tied for the second longest streak in the CHL this season.

Injured reserve - The Mavericks have been struck with the injury bug as of late, but the team has made a couple roster changes to hopefully fill the bench. Bill Vandermeer has been placed in the 14-day injured reserve joining Mavericks' defenseman Jared Lavender. Two players have finally come off the IR and are expected to play in Tulsa on Tuesday night. Defenseman Mike Burgoyne will play in his first game since December 31 and forward Kyle Bochek is expected to play in his first game since December 15.

Wednesday, January 27 - Shocking Prices Join Jeff Christian and Carlyle Lewis at Shocking Prices from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday. Shocking Prices, "The Ultimate Outlet Store," is located on the northwest corner of Highway 291 and 23rd Street in Independence.

Two different Mavericks players will be at three different price choppers this week. Join the Mavs from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 at the Price Choppers located at 100 South 7 Highway, Blue Springs, MO 64014, and 22210 West 66th Street, Shawnee, KS 66226. Or visit the Mavs at 1030 West 103rd Street, Kansas City, MO 64114 on Thursday, January 28.
