Odessa Jackalopes News Release


(Odessa, TX) - The Odessa Jackalopes swept the Arizona Sundogs last week to improve to 6-1-0 on their current rodeo road trip, with one game remaining against Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday.

Last week: 3-0-0

Season record: 31-6-3

Wednesday at Arizona, 4-2 Win

Joel Martin stopped 19 of 21 shots and four different players scored for the Jackalopes in their win. Jean Bourbeau scored his second shorthanded goal in three games for Odessa.

Friday at Arizona, 3-1 Win

Chad Hinz scored in his first game for the Sundogs then Odessa tallied three unanswered goals in the second period en route to the win. Sebastien Thinel was responsible for two of the goals, and Jeff Pierce netted the other won.

Saturday at Arizona, 5-4 Win

The Jackalopes held on for their 14th one-goal win of the season in an unusual game with 18 combined power plays between the teams. Kory Karlander scored his third shorthanded goal of the year to tie Kenny Bernard for the team lead.

The Jackalopes close their season-long, eight-game road trip against the Killer Bees. It's the final game at Dodge Arena this season. Odessa is 4-0-1 on the year against the Killer Bees.

It's a specialty jersey weekend as the Jackalopes will raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charity. The Jackalopes are 6-0-0 against the Sundogs this season.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
