Mavericks to Host Playoff Launch Party March 14

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks, along with Independence Tourism and the City of Independence, will host a Playoff Launch Party this Monday, March 14 from 4:30-6 p.m. at Independence Square. Following the launch party, the entire Mavericks' team and staff will have a happy hour and dinner at the historic Courthouse Exchange on the Square. All Mavericks' fans and media are encouraged to attend.

Missouri Mavericks' President and General Manager Brent Thiessen and Head Coach Scott Hillman will address the crowd from the steps of the Independence Courthouse. The Mavericks will unveil the team's playoff logo and slogan for the 2011 Ray Miron President's Cup Playoffs. All Mavericks players will be in attendance for autograph's and a chance for fans to wish them well before the Mavericks' final regular season and playoffs push.

Following the announcement and autograph session on the stairs of the Independence Courthouse, the entire team and staff will have a happy hour and dinner at Courthouse Exchange starting at 6 p.m.

The Mavericks are currently on a three-game road trip and play in south Texas for a pair of games this weekend. The team will return from south Texas for the Playoff Launch Party and then head to Bloomington for a game on Wednesday, March 16 against the PrairieThunder. Missouri will return home for a four-game home stand where they will face the Wichita Thunder on March 18 and 19, the Mississippi RiverKings on March 20 and wrap up the home schedule against the Thunder on March 22 .
