Mudbugs, Whataburger Reward Local Students

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are teaming up with our partners at Whataburger on a program to donate Mudbugs tickets to local schools in Caddo and Bossier Parishes. The tickets are a reward for local fifth-grade students who passed a fire safety course through their area fire department last fall.
This week, Mudbugs staff members have delivered free Mudbugs tickets to over 2,600 fifth-graders throughout Bossier-Shreveport and other surrounding communities. All of those students who successfully completed the fire safety course earlier in the school year are now receiving a free Mudbugs ticket voucher and a coupon for a free "Justaburger" from Whataburger.
"We are proud to work with Whataburger and local fire officials to reward students who have passed this important fire safety course," said Mudbugs Vice President of Sales & Marketing Jordan Wilson. "It ¬â¢s a pleasure for our organization to get out into the community and work with local schools in order to provide students the chance to enjoy a burger and a fun night at a Mudbugs hockey game."
The fire safety programs are coordinated primarily through the Shreveport and Bossier City Fire Departments at elementary schools in both cities and have also been held in communities throughout in Northwest Louisiana to further educate kids on fire safety.
The Mudbugs play at home again this weekend with two more games at 7:05 pm at the CenturyTel Center: Friday the ¬ËBugs face the Dayton Gems and Saturday they battle the rival Texas Brahmas.
