
Mavericks Take 4-3 Victory over Rapid City

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Missouri Mavericks took their second victory in a row over the league-leading Rapid City Rush on Friday night in a 4-3 victory.
Mike Ramsay scored twice in the first period and goaltender Shane Owen made 25 saves to secure the Mavericks' 4-3 win in Rapid City.
The Rush were the first to strike with a goal by Konrad Reeder, followed quickly by a goal from Mavericks' Mike Ramsay to tie the game at 1-1 and later tally another to keep the game in Mavericks' control 2-1.
Rapid City struck back hard in the second period, taking control with two goals from Winston Day Chief and Tristen Llewellyn to secure a temporary 3-2 Rush lead. Then Mavs' rookie Anders Franzon, assisted by Tyler Currier, tied the game up at 3-3 all.
Team Captain, Sebastien Thinel would lock in the Mavericks win with a power-play goal early in the third period to secure a 4-3 victory.
The Missouri Mavericks continue their road trip in Rapid City on Saturday night before returning home for their New Year's Eve match-up with the Tulsa Oilers on December 31st.
