Columbia, MO - The Evansville Otters mashed 10 hits and took advantage of five Mid-Missouri errors as they snapped their season-high three game losing streak by beating the Mavericks 6-3.

All-Star Ben Foster earned his fifth win of the season going six innings allowing just two earned runs on seven hits while striking out six.

Evansville got two runs in the first when Frank Scott scored on a throwing error by Mid-Missouri catcher, Ryan Kottke and Steve Martin touched home on a ground out by Cole Hilt.

Rickey Clinton made it 3-0 with an RBI single in the second that plated Josh Stewart.

Foster dodged a bullet in the bottom of fourth when Maverick third baseman Greg Buscher hit into a double play with the bases loaded with one out. Foster was not so lucky in the fifth inning when he gave up a two-run single to Brent Metheny that made it a 3-2 game.

But Evansville scored two more in the sixth with the help from two errors by Buscher and one more in the seventh on an RBI single by Steve Martin.

Clinton, the starting catcher for the East Division in the All-Star game next week, had three hits and three RBIs.

The Otters send Cody Blackard to the mound in tomorrow night's game. The Gibson Southern graduate is 1-0 after winning his first professional start last Saturday at Bosse Field. He will be opposed by Augustine Rodriguez who is 0-4 on the season.
