
Roosters Shutout

Richmond Roosters News Release
Crestwood, Illinois - The Roosters were shutout 6-0 on Wednesday night in the series opener against Windy City. It was the first time this season that Richmond has been held scoreless in a game. The Roosters got nine hits, but were unable to score any runners in their third straight loss.
The Thunderbolts got on the board first with a solo homer by Jason Crosland in the second inning. Another run was added in third on a sacrifice fly to right field by Jose Gutierrez. Windy City scored three more runs in the fourth when Ryan Andrews hit a long home run to left field. The game remained 5-0 until Nick Johnson hit an RBI single for Windy City in the seventh, extending the lead to 6-0.
The Roosters had nine hits, but only one for extra bases. Scott Anderson (1-1) pitched a complete game for the Thunderbolts, shutting down Richmond's offense and getting the win. Jared Howton (2-2) took the loss for Richmond.
Richmond (17-23) has two games remaining against the Thunderbolts (12-28) . Matt Schweitzer (1-1, 3.49 ERA) will take the mound on Thursday night and face Preston Simms (0-0, 0.00 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. (Indiana time).
