Kansas City Mavericks News Release

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Missouri Mavericks announced today that they have partnered with KSMO-TV (an affiliate of KCTV 5) on an expanded "Friday Night Ice" broadcast schedule for the 2016-17 season. It is the second season that Mavericks games will be broadcast live on KSMO-TV after "Friday Night Ice" debuted with four broadcasts last February.

"We couldn't be more excited to have Mavericks games back on KSMO-TV this season. We are constantly working to raise the Mavericks' profile throughout Kansas City, and last year showed us that a partnership with KSMO-TV goes a long way to helping us achieve that goal. So it made sense for us to invest in this partnership and build on what we did last year," said Mavericks general manager Brent Thiessen.

"Friday Night Ice" will feature live play-by-play coverage of all eight Mavericks Friday home games and the annual New Year's Eve contest. Along with coverage and analysis of those games, "Friday Night Ice" viewers will also see in-depth interviews with Mavericks players and staff, and learn more about select Mavericks partners whose support makes Mavericks hockey a possibility.

2016-17 "Friday Night Ice" Broadcast Schedule:

- Friday, November 11 vs. Fort Wayne - 7:35 p.m.

- Friday, December 16 vs. Alaska - 7:35 p.m.

- Saturday, December 31 vs. Quad City - 7:35 p.m.

"'Friday Night Ice' was an all-around success last year and we are pleased to offer an expanded broadcast schedule for this season. There is a great hockey audience in Kansas City, and KSMO-TV/KCTV5 are excited to bring that audience the thrill of Mavericks hockey," said KSMO-TV and KCTV5 General Manager Mike Cukyne.
