
Matt Iacopelli Commits to Western Michigan University

MUSKEGON, Michigan (September 17th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks are proud to announce that Forward Matt Iacopelli has made his college commitment to play for the Western Michigan Broncos out of the newly-formed National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) following his USHL career.
Iacopelli, the Brownstown, Michigan native, is entering his first season with the Lumberjacks after spending the majority of last season with the Belle Tire Midget Major squad totaling 26 goals and 22 assists in 44 games played. Iacopelli also played four games with the Springfield Jr. Blues out of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) recording three goals and one assist.
"I feel great about making my choice to play for Western Michigan and I have never been more excited," said Iacopelli. "I chose the school because of their great coaching staff and how they are able to develop their players for the next level. Also, the campus is close to home so my family and friends can watch me play frequently."
Iacopelli played in all five preseason games this season with the Lumberjacks tallying a goal and an assist.
The Lumberjacks will begin their 2013-14 regular season campaign this Saturday, September 21st in Green Bay against the Gamblers at 8:05 pm with their Home Opener slated for the following weekend on Saturday, September 28th against the Indiana Ice at 7:15 pm.
Season ticket packages for the 2013-14 season are still on sale for the low price of $225 for adults and $150 for children ages 3-12 for the 30 home games provided next season along with individual tickets.
