Waterloo, Iowa-Home or away, Waterloo Black Hawks fans can follow the team during the entire 2013/14 season with radio broadcasts on 1650-AM, "The Fan," or its sister stations, the Black Hawks announced Tuesday.

"'The Fan' has been a great partner as Black Hawks hockey has grown," said Vice President of Business Operations Mike Falk. "Our fans know that they can always find the latest on the team when they tune in, and that is only possible with the behind-the-scenes efforts of the talented producers and technicians at the station."

Each game broadcast will begin with a 20-minute pregame show, and conclude with postgame coverage which runs down game details and league results.

For more than a decade, KCNZ has been the flagship station for hockey in the Cedar Valley. The 1650 signal reaches a 20 county area of northeast Iowa. A limited number of broadcasts will be carried on Cruisin' 1250-AM, KCFI. For specific game broadcast details, visit 1650thefan.com. Listeners outside the regular station radius can also find free audio streaming of games on the 1650 website by clicking on the "Listen Live" link.

"We are thrilled to continue to be the broadcast home of the Waterloo Black Hawks," said KCNZ Owner and General Manager Jim Coloff. "The Hawks have one the largest and most loyal fan bases in the Cedar Valley. Coach O'Handley has his team in the hunt for a title every season. They are the perfect complement to our top-rated sports talk line-up of Dan Patrick and Jim Rome."

In addition to live play-by-play broadcasts, listeners can also get the latest on the team throughout the week. Programming Tuesday through Thursday will continue to include "Black Hawks Minute" features, spotlighting players and coaches, and new for the 2013/14 season, segments on Mondays and Fridays will recap and preview the entire United States Hockey League weekend schedule respectively.

The Black Hawks begin the new USHL season on Saturday with a game at The Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Illinois, versus the Chicago Steel. Pregame coverage on "The Fan" starts at 6:45, with the opening faceoff just after 7 p.m.
