West Valley City, Utah - Matt Berry had 3 goals and 1 assists and Joe Cannata gets a shutout in back to back game for the Utah Grizzlies as they defeated the Allen Americans 4-0 at Maverik Center.
Caleb Herbert had 1 goal and 2 assists for the Grizzlies and Cole Ully added 2 assists for Utah, who are now 8-0-3 against Mountain division opponents.
The Grizzlies got on the board 5:03 into the game as Matt Berry gave Utah a 1-0 lead. Berry made it 2-0 on a pass from Tim McGauley 10:26 into the period. Caleb Herbert extended his league leading goal total to 14 as he scored to give the Grizzlies a 3-0 lead.
Berry completed the hat trick 8:47 into the 2nd period. It's the first hat trick by a Grizzlies player all season. Berry now has 7 goals in his last 5 games.
Joe Cannata stopped all 18 shots he saw to get his 2nd straight shutouts. His record improved to 6-2-2 on the year. Jeremy Brodeur stopped 20 of 24 for the Allen Americans.
Utah is now 3-1 on the current homestand, which continues Friday night against the Americans. 7 pm face-off. It's a Metro by T-Mobile Pack the House Friday as well as an AFCU Friday. Utah has won 6 of their last 7 games and are currently in first place in the Mountain division.
